Last school year we got a little taste of homeschooling and a whole new level of respect for teachers.
If homeschooling is the route you’re taking, resist comparing yourself to those awesome teachers. They’re passing the baton to you. Run your best!
Hebrews 12:1-3
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…”
Run the race. Lay aside weights, weights of comparison to other people’s races. All good athletes stretch. Stretch your discipline, selflessness, and diligence.
“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and Perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
You can see all the negative or focus on the positive. Take joy in the process, no pain no gain.
Jesus is the Author and Perfecter of our faith. The trials He allows will shape us to be more like Him!
“Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.”
God who endured much, will help us endure. Take heart, He is a well of rejuvenation and LIFE!
Teachers don’t do it alone. They have resources and, you might not be aware, but so do homeschooling parents. There are big suppliers of books and teaching DVD’s from Abeka and Bob Jones University and various materials online. There’s homeschool groups and mom support groups on Facebook.
As a homeschooled high schooler I thought I’d share some encouragement. You’ve got this! You’re not alone! Have faith that what God has brought you too. He can see you through. For more encouragement on proclaiming victory over difficulties, listen to my podcast Life’s Silver Linings.
