“…America! America! God shed His grace on thee…”

America’s founding, her history, even this year, the continuing thread is God’s blessing and goodness.

We’ve had good times and bad times, but God has seen us through.

And today I want to encourage you that HOPE PREVAILS.

Hope is grounded in the overwhelming abundance and goodness of God.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans for a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Merriam Webster dictionary says Hope is a verb, meaning: to cherish a desire with anticipation, expectation, and confidence.

    • Forward looking
    • Positive
    • Expectant/anticipatory of something longed for
    • Patient
    • Focused on sufficiency and abundance
    • Active

Hope is ACTIVE. It’s daily walking according to scripture and watching and listening for God

Hope is EXPECTING God to deliver.

Hope is PATIENT, trusting His plan and timing.

This is the hope we have as children of Christ.

David in Psalms linked his HOPE in God with courage and strength

“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.”

Psalm 31:24

And then the Apostle Paul, who knew first hand of trials that tested one’s faith said in Romans 5:5 that God doesn’t disappoint hope placed in Him.

Today, looking into America’s future, to our personal future’s hopes and dreams, come what may, we can confidently put our hope in God.
